Regardless of your views of the Lovecraftian mythos and its place with occult work, there is a real value in this work. I really enjoyed how this book replicates the mood and donalr of the mythos, while reading this book you will be disturbed, and very creeped out.
Instead of being scared out of my mind, I found myself bored out of my mind. Fans of Lovecraftian magic and occult fiction will delight in Donald Tyson’s Necronomicon, based purely within Lovecraft’s own fictional universe, the Cthulhu Mythos. Alhazred is necronokicon for non-epic fantasy almost pages and has several slow points.
To see with mine own eyes the change from its glossy wetness to a satin finish, its heady vapours clouded my mind. Certainly, expanded upon with entities that Lovecraft himself did not create, it helps bring shape to a realm that many find confusing.
If the book were shorter then I would give it a higher rating, but as its length it tends to outweigh its worth. It is definitely faithful to the lore, and faithful to the feel of the Lovecraftian genre. The writer of horror stories, Howard Phillips Lovecraft —was a man at war with himself.
