I have had occasional problems using the wireless remote with not being able to get the shutter to close once open mainly due to line of sight. Handy for taking pictures of subjects that are difficult to approach, or to minimize vibration for close-ups and time exposure.
The Canon Remote Switch RSN3 is very light but relatively expensive but valuable to own – it is a valuable piece of kit to have. I have always used a wireless shutter release remote, a wireless remote is good to have but the RSN3 is even better.
So, it’s good for self portraits and test shots but I wanted something that would allow me to still be able to look through the viewfinder behind the camera and line up my shot and get a picture with no camera shake. Like the xwitch shutter release, the RSN3 supports a half-press or full press – which releases the shutter.

Cqnon you’re shooting HDR images multiple exposures or anything that requires absolute sharpness product shots this will do the job. The RSN3 does not require any batteries which is nice. Renting is fast and easy. This ingenious device is a must have if you shoot long exposures.

The switch arrived timely and is doing the job I hoped it would. They really need to make this rs8-0n3 5ft femote. Canon A add-on savings. It also has a shutter-release lock. The build quality is pretty low, canon is making remlte lot of money on this one. It’s virtually the same as the far more expensive TCN3, less the timer. Missing an N3 port, the Rebel series 4xxD models as of this writing are not compatible. In Stock Update Location close. The cord is nice and thick and looks like it will be kink resistant. This feature should certainly be one of the main incentives to choose the Canon-made RSN3 over similarly priced third party alternatives. You could use the camera’s built-in self-timer, but your subject may be long gone until it fires.
